Rittersgrün is located in an idyllic setting, a long, open valley with the Pöhlbach stream, purling quietly along it‘s base. The bed and breakfast pension „Erzgebirgischer Hof“ is situated in the heart of Rittersgrün alongside the narrow gauge railway station museum. At heights between 600 and 800 meters above sea level our village offers natural beauty and relexation pure.

Rittersgrün with its beautiful scenery is ideal for hiking, especially in summer time. There are a lot of walking trails through our rich deep pine forests. Winter in the Ore Mountains means a lot of snow in a gorgeous landscape. Rittersgrün and its vicinity provides excellent cross-country ski tracks, toboggan runs and slopes for downhill skiing and snowboarding for all skill levels. Ski lifts, further toboggan runs and facilities for winter sports are among others situated in Tellerhäuser and Fichtelberg. Those are easily accessible via public transportation or the own car (with snow tyres).

Along the border of the Erzgebirge and Bohemia stretches the longest nature reserve park in Germany; the nature park „Erzgebirge/Vogtland“. This beautiful park, 120 kilometer in length with the mountain Fichtelberg (1214m), is a famous country experience with it‘s large forest areas, moores, colourful meadows and puring brooks.

Here, where manifold mountain streams flow, pure and clean down to the valleys, one can experience a huge area of flora and faune, which has become a rare sight in most parts of Germany. Come and be satisfied of the natural beauty and romance of the Erzgebirge. We look forward to welcoming you with a hearty „Glück Auf“ - the traditional way to say hello in this region.
